Fall's Local Filmmaker Night

On Thursday, November 5, at the Eureka High School Lecture Hall, Local Filmmakers Night screening series will present a collection of thesis films and senior projects (2000-2002) from Humboldt State University’s Film Archive.

The film projects, all shot in Humboldt County by HSU students, include A Fool’s Errand by Deanna de Azevedo, Orick  by Jensen Rufe, Arcatype by Glen Nagy, That Art Thou by Tracy Boyd and Cole’s Train by Samuel Dyches. Each filmmaker used his or her unique talent to create a locally made short film and all filmmakers have been involved with filmmaking beyond their time at HSU. Local Filmmakers Night, a collaboration between Access Humboldt, Humboldt-Del Norte Film Commission and Eureka High School Media Club, is a screening series that supports and promotes the local film community. These events offers an inside look at thefilmmaking process by encouraging the filmmakers to share their challenges and learning.

Following the screening, attendees can enjoy Q & A session, movie trivia, prizes, and a reception at the adjacent Access Humboldt's Community Media Center. 

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Screening starts at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 per person and all are welcome to attend.
